Children, Youth, and Family (CYF) Minister

Amy Avery comes to St. Clement’s with years of experience in Episcopal churches in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Charlottesville, Virginia, following some years as an elementary school teacher. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Master’s in Elementary Education, both from the University of Tennessee.

Amy is married to Howie Avery, who works in development at the Haas School of Business. They have two teenage daughters and two dogs.

Amy recently began studies at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in the Master of Divinity program.
